Georgina Energy: Hussar EP513 Update

· Issued by Georgina Energy plc via RNS

Summary by 6ix AI

Georgina Energy, a helium, hydrogen and natural gas explorer with permits in Australia, is working with Ensign Energy Services on a plan to move the Ensign Rig 970 to its Hussar EP513 site in Western Australia. Civil engineering and site works are complete, but road closures to heavy vehicles and variable weather continue to delay the rig.

Key details

  • Georgina and its subsidiary Westmarket Oil & Gas Pty Ltd (WMOG) say they have received no notification of AU$10 million in costs required before using the Council roads now used by WMOG and contractors, and WMOG says it was never advised of significant costs for Wiluna Shire road access.
  • WMOG hired consulting firm Ingenua to review a proposed Road User Agreement. Ingenua is in discussion with stakeholders including the Shires of Wiluna, the Main Roads Department of WA and the Shire of Leonora. WMOG is also reviewing an alternative route via Leonora along the Great Central Road, the David Carnegie Highway and the Eagle Highway.
  • WMOG renovated, at its own cost, the Eagle Highway route from the Mangkili turn-off on the Gunbarrel Highway to the proposed Hussar 2 site, as well as the local wellsite airstrip.
  • A planned seismic survey (mapping underground rock layers using sound vibrations) is awaiting final approval and would take approximately 30 days of field work. Georgina says its lightweight equipment needs no heavy vehicle access and no clearing or grading of seismic lines.
  • The Hussar well is planned to drill to a total depth of approximately 3,200m, which may be extended, primarily targeting helium, hydrogen and natural gas in rock formations below a salt layer.

What’s still pending

  • Moving the rig to site still depends on resolving road closures to heavy vehicles and weather delays; a revised spud date (the start of drilling) has not been set.
  • The seismic program is subject to Western Australian Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration and Traditional Owner cultural heritage approvals, which Georgina says it expects to be issued shortly; they have not yet been granted.
  • The proposed Road User Agreement and the suitability of the alternative route via Leonora are still under review.

Hussar EP513 Update

Georgina Energy Plc, (LSE: GEX.L), a helium, hydrogen and natural gas exploration and development company with strategic permits in Australia, advises that it is currently working with Ensign Energy Services on a plan for mobilising the Ensign Rig 970 to site. The company has completed all civil engineering, and site works to facilitate drilling with all contractors having demobilised from site with their equipment.

Ongoing road closures to heavy vehicles and variable weather continue to pose a problem for the Ensign 970 Drill rig. The Company does however want to confirm the following matters it has become aware.

Georgina or Westmarket Oil & Gas Pty Ltd (“WMOG”)  have not received any notification referring to AU$10 million costs nor has it received any notification in reference to such a cost required before any use of the Council roads, which are currently being used by WMOG and Contractor vehicles.

WMOG has at its own cost renovated the Eagle Highway route from the Mangkili turn off on the Gunbarrel Highway to the proposed Hussar 2 site as well as the local wellsite airstrip to the required specifications and has plans to install an emergency runway lighting flare path.

The Company’s Consulting Engineers and advisors  www.aztechwc.com.au and www.ingenua.com.au are both working on access for the Ensign 970 Rig to site via alternative routes

WMOG has never been advised of significant costs or estimates required on Wiluna Shire administered road access. Current contractors are using the council administered roads.

WMOG has hired the experienced consulting firm www.ingenua.com.au to review a proposed Road User Agreement and Ingenua is in discussion with all stakeholders including but not limited to the Shires of Wiluna, the Main Roads Department of WA and the Shire of Leonora.

WMOG and its consultants are reviewing the suitability of an alternative route via Leonora along the Great Central Road then north along the David Carnegie Highway to the Mangkili turnoff and thene north along the Eagle Highway.

The delays in mobilising the Ensign Rig 970 to site caused by adverse weather conditions and road closures to heavy vehicles will be resolved with the company ensuring the safety of all personnel and equipment as the priority.

The seismic program planned and awaiting final approval does not require heavy vehicle access by utilising the very latest state of the art light weight seismic techniques and equipment that are environmentally non-invasive.

Such equipment will not require any clearing or grading of seismic lines nor extended geophone cables but will use carefully modulated vibration sources able to be mounted on light weight rubber tyred or crawler tractors. This equipment will also utilise newer generation nodal ecosystems utilising integrated Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or wireless transceivers for contactless, daily data harvesting.

The seismic programme will take only approximately 30 days field work and will take place subject to Western Australian Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration and Traditional Owner cultural heritage approvals expected to be issued shortly.

Contractors Travelling Recently on Hussar Access Roads.

The Hussar EP513 prospect granted drilling Exploration Permit 513 in the Officer Basin in Western Australia is primarily targeting subsalt reservoir formations, including the Townsend Formation and fractured Neoproterozoic basement lithologies, for helium, hydrogen and natural gas and is planned to drill to a Total Depth of approximately 3,200m which may be extended depending on gas occurrences and reservoir quality. Globally, fractured basement reservoirs similar to that targeted in the Hussar Prospect, have proven to be prolific producers. The Bach Ho field in fractured basement offshore Vietnam for example, at its peak produced 1.6 BCFGE (billion cubic feet of gas equivalent) per day and has been in continuous production for over 40 years. (https://www.saltworkconsultants.com/downloads/Bach_Ho_Cuong_Warren_09.pdf)

A secondary target is the hydrocarbon gas potential in the Kanpa and Hussar formations overlying the primary subsalt targets. These formations have not been adequately tested to date but have shown excellent porosities and hydrocarbon shows during previous drilling.

The Hussar prospect has an Independent Geological Report dated 1st February 2026 by Competent Person Mr Maki Petkovski certifying unrisked SPE PRMS (the Society of Petroleum Engineers and Petroleum Resource Management Systems) net attributable 2U Prospective Resources of 283 BCF helium, 315 BCF hydrogen and 2.93 TCF of hydrocarbon gas.

Based on the pricing of Helium US$450/MCFG and Hydrogen US$2.65/kg and US$8/MCF for hydrocarbon gas, these volumes would equate to a total potential combined net attributable unrisked potential in-situ value of c.US$152 billion.  These are estimates in-situ values from the AER (Australian Energy Regulator) and HNT (Helium Price Index) developed by the Company  based on unrisked prospective resources; they exclude production, separation and transport-to-market costs, and there is no certainty that any part of these resources will be commercially recovered.

Further updates will follow as we progress towards a revised spud date along with additional site photos which can be viewed by shareholders on the Georgina website.

Anthony Hamilton, Chief Executive Officer of Georgina Energy, commented:

“This company anticipates that road closures due to unseasonal weather conditions will be overcome with careful planning and drilling Hussar for its Helium and Hydrogen potential into a full field development remains our priority target. We look forward to making further announcements in due course.”
