KARIYA (Japan) ―DENSO, a leading mobility supplier, today announced global financial results for the first half of its fiscal year, which ended on Sept. 30, 2026. DENSO's full fiscal year will end March 31, 2027.
Consolidated revenue totaled 3,843.5 billion yen (US$24.4 billion), a 7.0 percent increase from the previous year.
Consolidated operating profit totaled 170.1 billion yen (US$1.1 billion), a 19.5 percent decrease from the previous year.
Consolidated profit attributable to owners of the parent company totaled 119.8 billion yen (US$0.8 billion), an 8.8 percent decrease from the previous year.
"Revenue in the first half of our fiscal year increased compared to the same period last year, driven largely by higher vehicle sales and increased demand for products in electrification and intelligence fields. However, despite positive effects from our team's business improvements, foreign exchange gains and high production volumes, operating profit decreased compared to the previous year. This was due primarily to rising parts and material costs and our continued focus on investing for future growth and one-time costs." said Seiji Maeda, CFO and Executive Officer. "This fiscal year, we forecast 7,750.0 billion yen (US$49.3 billion) in revenue and 500.0 billion yen (US$3.2 billion) in operating profit. Our revenue and operating profit forecast remain unchanged as we offset the impact of rising parts and material costs and so on through foreign exchange gains and business improvements compared to the previous forecast. The annual dividends for the end of the fiscal year will be 74 yen, unchanged from the previous announcement. We will continue to improve DOE levels over the long term and in a stable manner. Furthermore, we decided to repurchase treasury stock up to 200.0 billion yen (US$1.3 billion) or 100.0 million shares, whichever is lesser, in the board of directors meeting to enhance shareholder returns and improve capital efficiency."
In Japan, revenue increased to 2,300.9 billion yen (US$14.6 billion), up 9.6% from the previous year, and operating profit increased to 49.0 billion yen (US$311.6 million), up 55.3% from the previous year.
