CRISM Therapeutics: AGM Statement

· Issued by CRISM Therapeutics Corporation via RNS

Summary by 6ix AI

CRISM Therapeutics, a UK clinical-stage company working on local delivery of chemotherapy drugs, is holding its annual general meeting on October 27, 2026 at 11am. Non-Executive Chair Charles Spicer is to say patient recruitment has begun at its lead site for its registration-grade Phase 2 trial (a mid-stage study meant to support regulatory approval) of irinotecan-ChemoSeed in glioblastoma, a brain cancer.

Key details

  • Spicer is to say the company is well resourced for its near-term clinical objectives after an oversubscribed fundraise in May and grants from Innovate UK and Invest Northern Ireland that do not involve issuing new shares.
  • Spicer is to say irinotecan-ChemoSeed secured Orphan Drug Designation, a status for treatments of rare diseases, from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2026, and holds an Innovation Passport, a scheme of the MHRA, the UK medicines regulator.
  • CRISM's first NHS clinical trial site was formally activated in August.
  • The first phase of the trial involves patients with recurrent glioblastoma. Spicer is to say its specific surgical eligibility criteria can extend recruitment timelines.
  • Spicer is to say the docetaxel-ChemoSeed programme for advanced prostate cancer has progressed, supported by pre-clinical data and grant funding.

What’s still pending

  • No patient has yet been treated in the trial; treating the first patient remains the immediate priority.

AGM Statement

CRISM Therapeutics Corporation (AIM: CRTX), a UK clinical-stage drug delivery company focused on the localised and sustained delivery of chemotherapy drugs, is holding its Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) today at 11am at the office of Fieldfisher LLP. At the meeting, CRISM’s Non-Executive Chair, Charles Spicer will make the following statement:

The Company is in a strong financial position following the oversubscribed fundraise in May, supplemented by non-dilutive grant awards from both Innovate UK and Invest Northern Ireland. These awards endorse the quality of our science and, together with the fundraise, ensure that CRISM is well resourced to deliver on its near-term clinical objectives.

The Company has made significant progress in 2026. In glioblastoma, we secured FDA Orphan Drug Designation for irinotecan-ChemoSeed which, combined with our MHRA Innovation Passport, supports its development and commercial appeal. Our first NHS clinical trial site was formally activated in August, marking CRISM’s transition from clinical preparation into active patient recruitment. In parallel, our docetaxel-ChemoSeed programme for advanced prostate cancer has progressed, supported by encouraging pre-clinical data and dedicated grant funding to support the next stage of development.

Patient recruitment for our registration-grade Phase 2 clinical trial is now underway at our lead clinical site. Candidates are identified and assessed through weekly meetings of a multidisciplinary team comprising neurosurgeons, oncologists, radiologists and pathologists. The initial phase of the study involves patients with recurrent glioblastoma, with specific surgical eligibility criteria that can extend recruitment timelines, compared to less complex indications. We are working closely with our clinical investigators and treating the first patient remains our immediate priority.

The Board is confident in ChemoSeed's potential to deliver established chemotherapy directly to solid tumours. This year's clinical, regulatory and scientific progress reflects the strength of the technology and the team behind it. Our focus is on treating glioblastoma patients and demonstrating the clinical benefit that we believe irinotecan-ChemoSeed can deliver for those with this devastating disease. The Board thanks its shareholders and key stakeholders for their continued support and looks forward to providing further updates regarding the clinical trial in the coming weeks.

About CRISM Therapeutics Corporation

CRISM Therapeutics Corporation has developed an innovative drug delivery technology to improve the clinical performance of cancer treatments for solid tumours through the local delivery of chemotherapy drugs.

ChemoSeed, CRISM's lead product, can be implanted directly into the tumour or the resection margin following the removal of a tumour. This directs that therapeutic concentrations of chemotherapy drugs reach the deep-seated tumour tissue or cover the entire resection margin. In the case of treating glioblastoma, ChemoSeeds can be implanted during surgery thereby bypassing the blood brain barrier, which prevents other treatments from being able to reach the tumour and be effective.

CRISM has commenced recruitment at the Company’s first clinical site for its registration-grade Phase 2 clinical trial of irinotecan-ChemoSeed in patients with surgically resectable glioblastoma.
