Run a naming or follow contest
Your readers finish your news release and move on. A contest gives them a reason to follow your company, so you can reach them again. People who join through the sign-up form on the contest page follow your company.
- Agree the goal and the rules with your 6ix account manager: a new name, or more people following one of your social accounts.
- 6ix makes the contest page, the graphics and the posts, with your sign-up form on the page.
- Your team approves each piece before it goes out.
- 6ix runs the contest. When it closes, 6ix goes through the results with you. People who joined through your sign-up form show in Investors, and your Report shows your new followers by month.
You plan the contest with your 6ix account manager in HQ, where your team and 6ix work together. Its goal and progress sit in HQ › Mandates. Under Managed by 6ix, 6ix prepares the work, and your 6ix account manager checks each step with your team before it goes out.

Naming contest
People suggest a name for something new: a project, a product or a brand. You decide what makes a suggestion eligible, and your team picks the winner. 6ix sets up how people enter when it writes the rules with you.
Example: a public company asked people to suggest a name for a new brand. To enter, people registered, followed the company on X and suggested a name. The contest has closed.
Follow contest
Give people a clear reason to follow your company's social account, or an executive's. The contest page says what they'll get by following, and links straight to the account.
Example: following the company on X was one of the steps to enter the naming contest above.

Questions about contests
Who sets the rules? Your team. You choose what gets named or which account should grow, who can enter, the dates, any prize and who picks the winner. 6ix writes up the rules with you, and your team approves them before the contest opens.
Where do entrants go? To a contest page 6ix makes for you, with the rules, how to enter and your sign-up form. Getting your emails is a separate choice from entering. The sign-up form is how someone makes that choice, and 6ix keeps their opt-in record.
Is what 6ix makes for us labeled? Posts, emails and contest pages 6ix writes for you go out in your company's name, after your yes. Executive posts go out on your executives' own accounts, after their yes.
